' When is it enough?'

meh. brainstorming never works, and this piece proves it. I haven't really posted in a while, and I'm sure noone here now remembers when I did post, but heres my latest attempt. Feel free to tear it apart.

'When is it enough?'

Is it enough to make her breathe,
Enough to make the wind blow through her hair?
She's timid and she thinks she's make believe,
When everyone around her seems so fair.
Are the words enough to make her stop,
Those melodramatic antics in the night,
When everyone around her feels so lost,
To her, the only light around is dark.
Will the man beside her learn to cope,
Cope with the semantics of her thoughts?
She's comatose but brazen with desire,
To see through all the poisons and the loss.
A tattered china doll lies on the shelf,
The dainty features mock her through the dust.
The limp, hard pieces of ceramic toys,
Perfects her skewed visions left of trust.
Is his touch enough to stop the fear,
Of intimacy in her blacked out room?
Will blankets mask the scent of discontent,
When the visions meet her, writhing in full bloom?
Is it all enough to keep her sane?
Her clothes piled high around the moving mass,
Of pleasure masking unrelenting pain,
Of innocence reconciled once more at last?
Will the world around her see the clues,
The hints of what she lost and and has still to find?
Will someone see the flares she tries to send,
Subtle now because they've dulled within her mind.
Are the words of strangers passing by
Enough to bring her conscious on the street?
Enough to stop her thinking of the man,
And running through the blisters, to retreat?
Will the desolation melt away,
When he wraps her soft inside the shell?
Of lust and passion deep inside the life,
Of the cracked and jagged lifestyle in which she dwells.
Or will she always forget inside to smile,
And to inhale the morning's fresh and cleansing air.
How easy it is to just suck in and breathe,
Than being lost, fragile, broken and unaware.

I know that you won't believe this, but I'm going to say it anyway...that is really really good. I've missed reading your poetry.
